Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4/10/2025
Your privacy is very important to me. This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit hypnomaria.com, contact me, or work with me as part of my hypnotherapy services. It also outlines your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who I Am
My name is Maria Terletska, and I’m a qualified Regression Hypnotherapist providing online hypnotherapy sessions in English and Ukrainian. I own and operate this website (https://hypnomaria.com), and I’m responsible for handling all personal information. The technical side of the site (hosting, maintenance, and updates) is managed by my partner, who has no access to client messages or session data.
If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is used, please contact me at: maria.regressivetherapy@gmail.com
2. Information I Collect
a. Information You Provide Directly
You may share personal data when you:
- Send a message or enquiry: via my contact form, email, or other communication channels. This usually includes your name, email address, and any information you choose to include in your message.
- Book or arrange a session: such as your name, contact details, time-zone or scheduling preferences, and brief information about the issue you’d like help with.
- Participate in a session: during therapy sessions you may share personal or sensitive information about your wellbeing. Everything shared is confidential.
b. Automatically Collected Data
The website may collect limited technical information to ensure it functions correctly and to understand visitor trends. This may include:
- Your browser, device type, and operating system.
- Pages visited and how long you spend on them.
- Referring websites or search terms.
Analytics are collected anonymously and server-side, with no cookies or tracking identifiers. I do not use advertising trackers or gather personal identifiers.
c. Session Platforms and Third-Party Tools
All hypnotherapy sessions take place online via secure platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, or similar. The specific software used may change from time to time. Each platform has its own privacy policy and manages data (like your name and email to join a meeting) according to their terms. I do not record sessions unless you give explicit written consent.
If I use third-party tools (e.g. booking calendars, payment processors, or email services), I choose providers that meet UK GDPR requirements.
3. How I Use Your Information
I use your information only to:
- Respond to your enquiries and messages.
- Arrange and deliver hypnotherapy sessions.
- Maintain brief records for continuity of care and professional standards.
- Comply with legal and ethical obligations as a practitioner.
I never sell or share your personal information for marketing purposes.
4. Lawful Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, I process data on the following bases:
- Consent: when you contact me or agree to work with me.
- Contract: to provide the services you request.
- Legitimate interest: to respond to enquiries and manage my business.
- Legal obligation: to comply with insurance, tax, or professional record-keeping requirements.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting me.
5. How I Store and Protect Your Information
- Emails and contact-form messages are stored securely in my password-protected email account.
- Any written session notes are stored anonymously, safely and are accessible only to me.
- Any digital data is encrypted where possible and never shared unnecessarily.
- I retain only the data required for professional purposes and delete it once it’s no longer needed.
6. Data Retention
- General enquiries are deleted once resolved.
- Client records and session notes are normally retained for up to 7 years, following professional and insurance guidelines. After that time, all records are permanently deleted or securely destroyed.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your data (where legally possible).
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been mishandled: www.ico.org.uk.
To exercise any of these rights, please email me directly.
8. Data Sharing and International Transfers
Your information is never shared with other professionals without your consent. If I use services based outside the UK (such as Zoom or Google), your data may be processed internationally - but only by providers with adequate data-protection safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent measures).
9. Cookies
This website does not use marketing or tracking cookies. Anonymous server-side analytics may be used to understand basic site usage but they do not store data on your device or identify you personally.
10. Changes to This Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect legal or service changes. The latest version will always be available at hypnomaria.com/privacy, and the date above will show when it was last revised.
